A two-day Twitter conference began today at the Skirball Cultural Center here in Los Angeles.

Twitter co-founder Biz Stone opened the conference with a talk about his company’s drive to make a positive global impact.  The speech came in at 139 characters and then he asked people to link to a tiny url for more information.
