...Q & A With The Author
We’ve created a feature in the app for our book where readers can ask me questions, not just about the book but about life and boys or girls or whatever they are going through. Some of these exchanges are worthy of website posting: Here comes one now:
Q or C: Dear Louise, I am reading your book a second time because it is so good! Are you going to write any other books? Have you wrote any other books? Do you have any favorite books that you would recommend to me? My mom is planning to read the book and my sister is already on page 10 and she is liking it. My sister can’t put down the book. When did you start writing this book? Did you want to write when you were young? You have inspired me to read more and I now want to be a writer. Your book journals is the best book ever! Thank you for being such a great author!
Submitted by ReneeWeezy’s Response: Wow, Renee, this is a lot of Qs and Cs! I’ll start at the top. I’m so happy to hear that you’re liking the book enough to read it twice! That’s pretty awesome. I am currently working on a sequel which will follow Lanie through 8th grade as she helps Clayton uncover and solve his own family mystery. Favorite books…? I have so many! My absolute favorite book, as a teen, was The Singing Boones by Dale White. I’ve always loved historical fiction and this book had it all for me: A wagon train, romance and a singing family! I just loved it. The book appears to be out of print but I’ve linked to it on Amazon where you can find used copies. I may buy one myself!
I began writing Journals in 2006. Yes, I always wrote as a child. I wrote a lot of short stories and scripts. I grew up and began writing for TV and radio and I’ve been writing ever since. Journals is my first novel. I’m so thrilled to hear that you’re interested in writing. Think about how much you already write every day: texts, emails, wall posts, school papers, etc. Make everything you write count. Use it as practice. And start writing your stories. Remember, they don’t have to be perfect. They’re not supposed to be. It’s just you making a record of your ideas. From there, you can take a look at what you have and start re-writing. That’s when your ideas begin to become a story. Express yourself and have fun!
