Question From Marshall

journals-book:

Q or A: I was so impressed with this book I felt obliged to compliment you. It’s fantastically written. The depth of themes explored in this text through the innocence of Lanie was astonishingly interesting. I would recommened this book to anyone with an interest in literature. I’m a 19 year old male, if I enjoy it I believe anyone can. Thank you. What was your inspiration for writing this?

Weezy’s Response: Wow, that is quite high praise, and very eloquently stated, Marshall. The inspiration was to pay tribute to my father and find a way to publish his journal. I knew that I didn’t know enough about World War II to write about it with any credibility. So I decided to write about it through the eyes of myself at the age of 12, which is when I first gained an awareness of what he had done and what it meant. I’m very pleased that you like the book, Marshall and thank you for your kind words.
