    I’m learning the new camera.  It’s a Cannon Power Shot G9. (recommended by Ian Broyles)
The setting I like at this early stop on my journey towards photographic enlightenment is called Tv.  I had thought it perhaps was for taking pictures that would go on television (silly me) but it seems to be a setting whereby you can change the shutter speed.
I enjoy slowing down the shutter at night and holding the camera very still.  The blend of things that don’t move like buildings and parked bikes with things that do move like people and cars and (stolen bikes - note the shadowy figure near the bikes) is very lovely to me.
So, here are two photos that strive towards that (while providing a bit of evidence as to who stole the bikes)
