My rating system: Five Applause Breaks.  Go see “Looped” starring Valerie Harper and Chad Allen at the Pasadena Playhouse.

Val (I hope it’s OK to call her Val) plays Tallulah “Why did Bruce Willis name his daughter after this woman?” Bankhead.  She was a sauced and saucy 1940s-ish movie star, attempting to loop one line in her last movie while spilling her guts, her booze, her pills and the other assorted contents of her purse at the recording engineer, Chad Allen who ultimately returns the emotional volley.

This is a fast and funny and fantastic play.  (lighting by Michael Gillium, my nephew’s Dad) Go see it!

I loved it so much I came home and drank out of a shoe.
